Comprehensive Vocational Evaluations

Comprehensive Vocational Evaluations

A comprehensive vocational evaluation, CVE, is an evaluation designed to empower you during your career journey. You will obtain the greatest understanding of yourself, abilities, and career interests. Also, accommodations are recommended to ensure you have all the tools you need to be successful while working or attending college!

Ivy League Universities, school psychologists, and reputable organizations highly recommend the tools used in our evaluations.

Have Questions?

Let's see if these answers help address your questions. If not, feel free to give us a call at 407-951-0505.
We would be happy to provide you more information on your career evaluation appointment.

What Will I Experience During My Career Appointment?

That is a great question! First, you’ll meet with a vocational evaluator and have a conversation about what type of work you have done in the past and where you see your self going in the future. Also, we will gather information on your personal and medical history, so that we can develop holistic recommendations for your future career goals.  If you are unsure of a career goal, that is okay! That is the purpose of your evaluation, which is to help you get a better understanding of your strengths, career interests, and potential accommodations to help you succeed at the worksite.

After having a conversation with your vocational evaluator, you will partake in various activities based on your career goals, such as academic testing, career inventories, and work activities to see what your strengths are and how they relate to a career. For example, if you are good at math and love math, then perhaps careers related to math would be a good fit for you. Lastly, after your evaluation, a report is developed with career recommendations and sent to your State counselor, who will contact you for the next steps.

How Can I Prepare For My Career Appointment?

Again, that is a great question! Try to get a full night's rest and eat breakfast or lunch prior to your appointment. Also, if you like, you can bring a bottled drink and snack or lunch with you. Since we will be chatting about your work history, if you have a resume, please bring that with you as well. If not, no problem! We will review your work history during your appointment.

If you wear glasses or use any tools or devices that help you, such as a magnifier, bring those with you too! If you have any medical or psychological reports, please bring a copy of those with you as well, since such can help in developing career recommendations and accommodations for you. Lastly, the appointment can last up to four hours at a time, but don't worry! You will have the opportunity to take breaks throughout the day. This appointment is to help you in your career journey, and we want you to enjoy your appointment. So, feel free to dress comfortably and wear your lucky socks if you want too! Your appointment is about you and what’s to come for future career goals!

What is a Two-Day Evaluation?

Another great question! A two-day evaluation includes the career evaluation explained above, but also includes a second day of working at an employer's jobsite, with your vocational evaluator! The purpose is to see your capabilities while working, and if needed, your vocational evaluator is right next to you to assist you if you need help. It's a great way to see your skills in a real-life work setting!
